Privacy policy

Your codex lives here

Your codex lives on this device. Mementia has no account system or content servers of its own. If you turn on Mementia+ backup or sync, your codex is encrypted on this device before upload to your own iCloud or Google Drive account. Mementia does not receive the backup or its key and cannot read it.

Data collection

Mementia does not create a Mementia account, store your codex on its own servers, track usage, run analytics, collect device identifiers, or access your contacts. The exceptions are the optional Mementia+ subscription, backup and sync features, and information you voluntarily submit for early testing, submit as anonymous feedback, or send us by email, described below.

Anonymous feedback

Settings includes an optional feedback form. It sends only the message you type and fixed delivery fields to FormSubmit for forwarding to admin@cyberflux.in. It attaches no name, email, RevenueCat identifier, device details or archive contents. Avoid personal information in the message if you want to remain anonymous. FormSubmit processes connection information and keeps submissions for 30 days; the team retains feedback to improve Mementia. This form cannot be used for replies because it does not collect a contact address.

Optional testing requests

If you choose Join early testing, in the app or on this website, you can enter an email address and consent to testing invitations and feedback. On submission, the app or the website sends only that email, consent text and fixed form-routing fields to FormSubmit, which forwards the request to admin@cyberflux.in. FormSubmit retains submissions for 30 days and processes them under its privacy policy at https://formsubmit.co/privacy.pdf; network providers may process technical connection information. The Mementia team retains your email for testing invitations and feedback. Email admin@cyberflux.in to leave the list or request deletion. No memories, photos, journal entries, support IDs or device identifiers are included in the submitted fields. The app does not save your signup email in the codex, backups or sync. A submitted request is not a guaranteed testing invitation.

Local storage

By default, every journal entry, Person, Place, Day, Moment, Thing, photo, note, and vibe reading is stored only on your device. It leaves the device only if you turn on Mementia+ backup or sync, described below.

Photos

When you add a photo, Mementia copies it to private app storage on your device. By default it is not uploaded anywhere. If you enable Mementia+ backup or sync, your photos are encrypted on your device before upload to your own cloud account.

Subscriptions

Mementia+ is an optional paid subscription. Billing runs through your app store, Google Play or the App Store, and is tied to your existing store account, not to a Mementia account. To validate purchases and provide subscription analytics, Mementia uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives and retains an anonymous app user id and purchase history or subscription status read from your store receipt. It does not receive your journal entries, codex, photos, notes, or any other content. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

Backup & sync (Mementia+)

Mementia+ includes optional backup and sync. When you turn them on and connect your iCloud or Google account, Mementia encrypts your codex and photos on your device before uploading them to a private, app-only folder in that account. The encryption key is created on your device and a copy is kept in the same cloud account so another device can restore after you sign in. Mementia operates no content server and does not receive the encrypted data or its key, so Mementia cannot read your codex. Access to your cloud account controls access to the backup. You can disconnect at any time; cloud copies remain in your account until you delete them.

Deletion

You can delete individual entries inside the app, or erase the entire codex from Settings. Deleted data is removed from this device.

Permissions

Camera access lets you take photos for journal entries and codex cards. Photo library access lets you add existing photos. Mementia requests microphone and speech-recognition access only after you invoke Dictate. The app requests on-device speech processing for dictation, but availability depends on your operating system and device. Mementia does not store or receive the dictated audio. Those permissions are used only for those actions.

Your rights and contact

You can export your codex at any time and erase all of it from Settings. Deletion is immediate and on-device. For any question about this policy, your data, or to make a privacy request, email admin@cyberflux.in.
